Booking Terms

We are a booking service

Vanbythehour.com finds and books local van and removal jobs. The work itself is carried out by vetted, independent delivery partners (drivers and removal crews). Each partner runs their own business and is responsible for carrying out your job.

Insurance and SEPA registration

Our delivery partners hold their own insurance, such as goods in transit and public liability cover. Partners who take away waste for clearances hold SEPA waste carrier registration. You can ask your assigned driver for their insurance and registration details directly, before the job starts.

Your quote

The instant quote is an estimate based on the details you enter: items or property size, floors, lifts, crew, parking and distance. If the job is different on the day (more items, extra stops, harder access), the driver may need to adjust the price. They will tell you before carrying on.

Booking and payment

You book by WhatsApp. To secure your driver you pay a booking fee: £25 for single items and sofas; £50 for home and office moves up to £500; £75 for moves from £501 to £1,000. For moves over £1,000 the fee is agreed with you. The rest of the price is paid directly to your driver when the job is done.

Parking and access

Please make sure there is safe, legal parking close to both addresses, and arrange any permits needed. Parking charges, and fines caused by a lack of suitable parking, are paid by you. Tell us about stairs, lifts and long walks when you get your quote.

Waiting time

Please be ready on time with items packed. Long delays at either address may be charged by your driver at their hourly rate.

Changes and cancellations

To change or cancel a booking, message us on WhatsApp or call 07412 126643 as early as you can.

Items we cannot move

Partners may refuse dangerous, illegal or hazardous goods, and items that cannot be moved safely.
